Forde Abbey is a grade 1 listed building privately owned and lived in. Originally a priory built in the mid 1130's and has been lived in privately ever since. The gardens are vast and grade 2 listed in their own right. The fountain reaches a height of 160 feet and is claimed to be the highest powered fountain in England.
We recommend this property to our guest's and many spend a full day wandering around the fantastic gardens.
The house is open to the public and has some impressive tapestries and furniture, really interesting history to the house with experts on hand in each room.
As usual please check their website for all details and opening times etc.
